For this poster I decided to try something completely different from my usual process, and with the kind permission of the talented Valerie Mrosek to incorporate one of her most unsettling photographs, I was able to create something I’ll be having nightmares about for weeks to come.
If you can, go to this gig as it’s guaranteed to be one of the most terrifying events of the year.

"It’s barely been 2 years since Crippled Black Phoenix released their previous propaganda pieces (Mankind) The Crafty Ape and No Sadness Or Farewell, but Greaves and his fellow vigilantes return already with a new sprawling masterwork, White Light Generator. Anyone who’s familiar with the band will find little has changed (save for the third different singer in as many releases), but as a continuation of the sweeping prog-tinged protest anthems that constitute the majority of this band’s oeuvre, they can do no wrong.”

"Each of Thou's full-length albums has had a definite intended theme running throughout; from Tyrant and Peasant's concern with the systems of oppression used to control the majority for the benefit of the few, to Summit's attempts to transcend that oppression, to defy and confront those who would shackle you.
After a quiet couple of years, Thou have returned with their 4th full-length album: the towering, majestic Heathen.
What is immediately apparent is that this is more than just another doom album. In an ideal, more open-minded world, it would transcend the limitations of genre and be heard by a far larger swathe of the population than it actually will be. This is music meant to inspire thought; to do more than make you bang your head, but use it.”

First commandment: Thou shalt collect.

My girlfriend got bored and decided to show off my Thou records I guess.

The sigil I designed for Voe is being made into a patch. So I’ll soon be able to wear my own work on my battered old black jean jacket. Pretty cool.
Forthcoming cassette release via the always killer Dry Cough Records!

My latest poster for the consistently excellent gigs of Ewen G Cameron.
I usually find using textures to be just a lazy way to fill empty space, but this design was just crying out for a more weathered look.
Come along to the gig if you’re in Scotland, full details can be found here.

I’m extremely proud to present my latest poster design, commissioned by London-based promoter Cheryl Carter of Bleak Metal for the Caïna X Church Of Fuck 10th anniversary show.
One of the most labour-intensive but rewarding projects I’ve ever done. More like this please.

What I’ve spent every minute of my free time working on for the past couple of weeks. Extremely happy with how it turned out.

Event poster for Glasgow promoter of all things psychedelic, freaky, groovey and just plain loud, James T McKay.
You should come along to this gig, it’s guaranteed to be mind-meltingly terrifying.

I drew this. It was an agonizing amount of effort. It was worth it. Come to the gig.

"The guitars can occasionally sound like the scraping of long-ossified bone on cracked concrete, the drums hit with all the impact of anti-materiel rounds fired into the hull of a rusted tanker, and the vocals sound like the last transmission of a man slowly bleeding to death in the middle of a frozen tundra. It is an unremittingly bleak collection of sounds, expertly fused to create an unpleasant but wholly immersive experience.”
